FRANK HORVAT - L'eleganza nella moda e nel quotidiano
by Marco Antonetto
"Frank Horvat’s photographs have graced the pages of publications such as Elle, Vogue and Harper’s Bazar. Together with colleagues, such as Richard Avedon, Bourdin and Newton, he has skilfully interpreted Italian high fashion, from Nina Ricci to Ungaro, as well as the creations of the great French fashion houses, including Chanel and Givenchy. His style of fashion photography derives from the intuitiveness and spontaneity that can be seen in his travel reportages, in which the emphasis is on the magical moment, rather than the characteristic mise-en-scène of the photo shoot, beneath the glare of flashes and studio lights; his shots are consistently distinguished by excellent technique and are obtained with a small camera, usually a Leica or a Nikon, but always a 35mm."
